South Pier Blackpool - Amusements, Rides, Laughing Donkey Family Bar -Walking distance from The Meland = 1.5 Miles
Today the pier is a great mix of entertainment for all the family. From the entrance arcade with its big top roof, the traditional stalls, the candy floss and ice cream shops, the fortune teller, the great Laughing Donkey Family bar, then to the rides.

The Rides

If you thought the Pleasure Beach was the only place to experience rides think again. The South pier has a great mix of rides from the childrens roundabout and fruit shoot, the traditional Waltzers, the crazy mouse and then the real ultra white knuckle rides of the reverse bungee - Skyscreamer, and the sky coaster.

1. Head southwest on Palatine Rd toward Central Drive
2. Turn right at Central Drive
3. Turn left at Chapel Street
4. Head to Promenade then turn left

Blackpool's central pier is dedicated to Fun. From the Ferris wheel, the Legends show, the fairground rides.

The Ferris Wheel


The Ferris wheel was added in 1990 and due to its size and weight £750,000 was spent strengthening the structure of the pier. The Ferris wheel is 108 ft - 32 meters tall. It gives a great view of the Blackpool promenade and is especially good to ride during the Illuminations. The current gondolas allow you to rotate them to get a full panoramic view of Blackpool. On a good day views stretch from Wales in the South to the Lake district in the North.

North Pier Blackpool - Merrie England Bar, North Pier Theatre, Shops and amusements - Walking distance from The Meland = 0.7 Miles
The Blackpool North Pier is more than just an historic pier, there is so much to do for the whole family.

There's a huge amusement arcade, childrens rides, food and drink and a host of shops with everything you'll need to complete your Blackpool Holiday.

Entertainment at the top of the pier can be found in the Merrie England Bar, whilst at the opposite end of the pier there is the Sun Lounge and Carousel Bar together with the world famous North Pier Theatre.

The theatre boasts an exciting programme of shows.
