Have to say that Blackpool Zoo is really a great day out. The Zoo itself is now one of the best maintained in Europe. Many captive breeding programs are in force helping to maintain species that are critically endangeroured. Apart from this you get to meet these funny little merecat creatures and its worth it just for that. There are seals and sea lions, tigers, elephants and a rather bad tempered gorilla who seems to have the hump with everyone. It really is a great day out.
Literally across the road from the Zoo is the very well maintained Stanley Park with its pitch and putt, boating lake which incendently has some rather nice fish in it. A day licence is only a couple of quid and if you want, we can arrage a picnic for you.
